Quitting college to do what you love could be both a blessing and a curse. Your reason and motive behind this would be the one to determine. Some people quit it without a back up plan and this is totally not how we go about it. Others quit and do amazing and better stuff than what they would have done with that certificate, diploma or degree.
This should be considered as one of the bravest moves but still very risky. A lot of judgement will come from friends and family after this. Most of them will declare you have no future and start pitying you or call you irresponsible. Consider this as background noise because only YOU will understand this and you know it’s all for the best. Make decisions for yourself because you know what is good for you.
Most people quit college because they don’t love the course they are doing . This course may have been chosen for them by parents or guardians or they chose it because of the money and not passion. Your passion will always lead you to your purpose in the long run. We are often advised to choose marketable courses but choosing a course based on your passion is one of the best things.
Doing something you love as a course makes you perform better and even enjoy as you are studying. There’s no academic pressure or stress for you since you are always looking forward to the next class or test.
After quitting college, give yourself some more grace as you deserve it. Starting with humble beginnings shouldn’t discourage you, be patient and keep on putting in the work finally the result will be worth all the effort. You can quit a course and do a different one which you like better. You can also quit college and start that business you’ve always been yearning to.
Block all the negativity from wherever while in this journey because it may be a form of discouragement to you. You are brave enough to make this choice. Some people lack the courage you have and they end up doing courses they don’t enjoy and end up doing jobs they totally don’t like. These people are never looking forward to any workdays because they hate it there. You on the other hand will be enjoying and loving what you do. And as Maya Angelou says, “to be successful in what you do love what you do “. ♡
